Frye - Teacher & Founder
There
are many things in my life for which I am thankful. Most
certainly, one of those things is good health. It's my life's
passion to share knowledge and to help others in enjoying
the healthiest life possible.
When I discovered Bikram Yoga in 2008 and learned about
the restorative attributes of these postures, it became
clear to me that this was what my body needed. There are
so many benefits both mentally and physically that I've
personally experienced - I feel like I am reversing the
aging process of my body each time I take class. I love
what Bikram Yoga has done for me!
Fall of 2012, I took the leap from student to teacher and
went to "the source" to complete the intensive
9-week, 700 hour training. It was difficult to leave my
family, my friends, my life - but the total immersion convinced
me even more of the benefits of this therapeutic yoga sequence.
Without a doubt, I knew that I wanted to share this life
changing practice; and by Summer 2013, Bikram Yoga Southern
Pines opened its doors! In April 2016, it was time to branch
out and attend Inferno Hot Pilates Training.
Today, not only are we more than "just Bikram",
I'm proud to say that we're also more than "just yoga".
Yes, we offer yoga classes and seminars, but our focus is
on you, our students, and providing a warm, welcoming environment.
I am grateful for all you folks who come and practice at
Bikram Yoga Southern Pines. It's been such a blessing welcoming
old friends and making new ones! It's my pleasure to teach
and practice with you - All of you are such an inspiration!
Bikram Yoga Southern Pines is blossoming thanks to YOU!

I was
first introduced to Bikram Yoga in 2013 by my boss at the
time who loved the Yoga and knew I would fall in love with
it too. At that time, I was working in a hair salon and was
excited to find a physical activity that would help me lose
weight, as well as balance out the repetitive arm and wrist
movements I was becoming accustomed to. Little did I know,
I was about to discover much more.
My first
Bikram class was, well to say the least, a bit of a mess.
I decided to come back the next day to try again, noticing
that during and even after class, I felt a little better than
the first day. I loved that my teacher was so positive, compassionate
and encouraging to never give up. A couple of
days turned into two months of mindlessly driving to the yoga
studio when I had free time. I became addicted to the feeling
this Yoga created within me, and so I completed a 30 day yoga
challenge my third month as a student.
In the
fall of 2014, I attended the Bikram Yoga teacher training
in Thailand. I made friends from all over the world, but most
importantly, this life changing experience showed me more
of who I am. I never really believed that I could be a teacher,
but through this training I fell in love with helping others
heal themselves and experience what I had felt.
I attended recertification in the fall of 2017, spending one
week with Bikram during a teacher training, it was a mini
dose of what I went through initially 3 years prior.
I have
a passion to travel, and through teaching, I hope to experience
different areas of the world. Ive been lucky to teach
in NC, RI and New Zealand. Ive also practiced in studios
in NYC, Mexico, London, Glasgow and Dublin.
I am thankful
for such an opportunity to teach and learn from other teachers
and hardworking students. Cant wait to see you in the hot
room! |

I tried my first yoga class at the encouragement of my daughter, and after just a couple of classes, realized its power beyond the benefits of the physicality of the asanas. Yoga has provided me with an acceptance of myself and where I am right now in life, as well as a clarity of mind and spirit and a restored sense of creativity. I quickly realized that I wanted to learn more and to share the benefits of yoga with others. I completed my 200-hour power vinyasa teacher training with Tamal Dodge of Tamal Yoga in 2013 as well as workshops and continuing education in Prenatal Yoga, Trauma Sensitive Yoga, Yoga for Healthy Aging, and Yoga for All. I am registered with the Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT 200, YACEP.
I hope to bring to each practice and share a love of alignment along with a sense of play and exploration and a desire to make yoga truly accessible to all, encouraging progression at one’s individual pace and level to attain the increased physical, mental, and spiritual well-being a practice can offer. My special interests for continued exploration include the use of yoga/meditation for mental wellness, seniors, children — practitioners of all ages, sizes, and abilities. Yoga is for everyone, and I am excited and so very grateful to have the opportunity to lead practices in such a beautiful, welcoming space. |
